About Our Annual Workshop
Our tap workshops offers significant benefits for dancers. Participants develop stronger musicality, improve their timing, and build sharper coordination as they learn to connect movement with sound. The focus on footwork enhances precision and endurance, while improvisation elements help dancers build confidence and creativity. Whether a dancer is preparing for competitions, performances, or simply wants to sharpen their skills, a workshop provides targeted instruction that can fast-track progress in just a few sessions.
One of the most rewarding aspects of a tap workshop is the sense of connection it fosters. Dancers come together to share a common passion, encouraging one another and celebrating each other’s growth. It’s a space where both beginners and advanced dancers can be inspired, challenge themselves, and leave feeling accomplished. Whether it’s the thrill of learning a new routine from instructors that are extremely passionate about tap or the joy of hearing the perfect rhythm under your feet, the tap workshop is an unforgettable experience that deepens both technical ability and love for the art of dance.

Cathy began her dance training at age three in Chicago which led her to become a competitive dancer at age 8. Through her competitive years she won several regional and national titles and had the opportunity to travel all over the country to learn from some of the industry's top dancers and choreographers. She began as an assistant teacher at age sixteen, and has been teaching her own classes and choreographing since 1999. Cathy was an All Star and instructor with Universal Cheer Association. She was also a scholarship member of the Wright State Emerald Jazz dance team.
Cathy has taught tap, jazz, musical theater, ballet, and lyrical throughout her teaching career. Her students have placed nationally and received numerous titles and scholarships as well as several entertainment, choreography and technical excellence awards.

Manny has been teaching and choreographing for nearly 30 years. While he was still taking classes and competing, Manny won numerous awards and titles throughout the competition industry including Master Dance of Ohio, and performed and toured with the Dayton Ballet. Manny has performed in multiple musicals including "The Wiz," "Grease," and "Damn Yankees" as well as various ballets, including "Romeo and Juliet," "The Nutcracker," "Sleeping Beauty," and "American Cinderella."
Manny has an undeniable affinity for the style of tap that began when he was a teenager. He has had the opportunity to take classes from some of the most gifted tap dancers and continues to study the art now. His tap choreography has been awarded at competitions throughout the years with a variety of overall awards, choreography awards, top scoring routines, and judges awards.

Alex began her dance journey at the age of five and started competing by the time she was eight. In 2024, she expanded her involvement by stepping into an assistant teaching role. Tap is Alex’s favorite style, and her talent in the genre has earned her numerous awards, scholarships, and recognition throughout her competitive years.
Alex has also contributed to teaching tap workshops, bringing both her passion and experience to each session.
Alex's most rewarding aspect of dance is the strong sense of community—growing, collaborating, and creating something meaningful and beautiful together.

Avari began dancing at the age of three and entered the competitive dance world by the time she was eight. She took on the role of assistant teacher and teacher at just twelve years old, demonstrating both leadership and a strong commitment to the art form. Tap is Avari’s favorite style, in which she has earned multiple awards in recent years, including "The Future Of Tap" award.
Avari's performance experience includes a featured role as Clara in WCTP’s "The Nutcracker."
For Avari, the most important part of dance is the opportunity to grow and learn alongside her peers and friends each week.
